G I Joe started as a line of action figures by Hasbro and was instant success. For the first time there was a “doll” in the market that appealed to boys. Soon enough the charcters from the action figure line found themselves in their very own comic book and later an animated television series called “G I Joe: A Real American Hero.” In 2009, with the release of the movie “G I Joe: The Rise of the Cobra” these all American action heroes earned themselves a fan following from a whole new generation. This G I Joe is much cooler than the older traditional characters with their new gadgetry and fancy special effects.

Even as boys everywhere are mesmerized by this new and improved G I Joe, it proves to be a perfect opportunity to hold a party by this theme. Make the event sound doubly exciting in your invitations by designing them as draft letters to the armed forces. Invite all the little macho ones for a training camp and don’t forget to mark the envelope and the letter as “TOP SECRET” OR “CLASSIFIED” in bright red.

As the kids arrive at the G I Joe arrange a counter where they sign up and collect their kits (which is like a party favor pack given in advance.)
